I love Perugia, Umbria (Italy).
What is fascinating about this city is the size of the arches and the architecture which is constructed deep down into the foundation and shoots up very high in the sky.
 
There are an abundance of arches that connect one structure to another and as you walk the narrow medieval city streets, these buildings tower above you.  
It appears to be quite chaotic however once you stop and gaze, you understand that there is an underlying order out of the chaos.  
 
I love landscape with inhabitants.  People inchabit cities and I wanted to represent the beginning of a city "festa" and that is why this scene looks a bit enigmatic where past and present overlap and mix.
 
This painting will be rolled and shipped in a sturdy tube.
There are approximately 5 cm. all around the edges of the painting in order to faciliate mounting on stretcher frames.
