Commissioning an Oil Painting

Commissioning an oil painting is a long, thoughtful process.

It involves an intense dialogue and exchange of ideas, wishes, and visions for the final artwork.

As an artist, I use all the information a collector generously shares with me, I then contemplate it in order to present an initial idea.

That idea will then be enriched by their input so that a 2nd or 3rd draft emerges.

Once both of us are satisfied with the composition, will I start their painting.
